🎓 Harker Students Achieve 14 National Merit Scholarships — As of June 3, a total of 14 Harker students from the Class of 2026 have been awarded $2,500 college-sponsored scholarships in the National Merit Scholarship Competition. This includes 3 new winners announced recently, following 11 earlier winners, with more announcements expected in June and July.

🚀 Harker Hosts Successful Startup World Cup Qualifier — On April 17, Harker’s upper school campus hosted the Startup World Cup’s Harker National Youth Qualifier, attracting student entrepreneurs and Silicon Valley investors. SchoolAce took first place with a $2,000 prize, while Harker juniors Nicole Dean and Stellan Lindh secured third place with their Fika Matcha, advancing to the Grand Finale in San Francisco.

🏆 Harker Aquila Wins Third NSPA Pacemaker Award — At the April 16-18 National High School Journalism Convention in Minneapolis, Harker Aquila won its third Pacemaker Award from the National Scholastic Press Association in the Online category. This prestigious award was one of 16 Pacemakers awarded from 40 finalists, bringing Harker journalism's total to eight Pacemakers since 2008.

📚 Upper School Begins 2026-27 Academic Year with Matriculation — The upper school kicked off the 2026-27 academic year at the annual matriculation ceremony on August 26 in the athletic center. The event featured remarks from Brian Yager, Paul Barsky, and student leaders, alongside performances by the Harker Chamber Orchestra and Capriccio.

🔍 Harker's Research Program Showcases Student Innovation — Harker's research program allows students to explore fields like astrophysics, AI, biomechanics, and language acquisition. Notably, Elizabeth Zhang conducted an investigation into exoplanets. Harker students have been recognized in the Regeneron Science Talent Search every year since 2006, with a total of 123 scholars/semifinalists over 21 years.
