🎤 Harker Dancers Secure Third Place at Dance Competition — Last weekend, junior Kayvion Cruz and Demitri Ajlouny '26 represented Harker's hip-hop group Syndikidz at an International Dance League competition in Los Angeles, where they achieved third place in the junior division. Formed in 2025, Syndikidz was one of only six Community Division teams selected to perform at this prestigious event.
🎻 Senior Aaron Ma Wins Grand Prize in Violin Competition — Senior Aaron Ma achieved the grand prize in the ENKOR International Music Competition, scoring 98.33 in the violin category. This prestigious competition drew entries from around the world, with over 500 jurors from 70 countries, and saw Aaron as the highest-scoring competitor across all age groups.
🏅 Senior Sylvia Chen Wins Physics Excellence Award — In July, senior Sylvia Chen was honored with the Citadel and Citadel Securities Certificate of Excellence for her outstanding performance on the USA Physics Olympiad Exam. Recognized as one of the highest-scoring young women in the exam, she received a $2,500 cash prize, highlighting her impressive results on the F=ma exam.
🏅 Harker Senior Wins Gold at International Linguistics Olympiad — Senior Sylvia Chen won a gold medal at the International Linguistics Olympiad held from July 26 to August 2 in Bucharest. She was selected as one of 12 high school students for the USA Red team after ranking among the top scorers in the North American Computational Linguistics Open Competition.
🏆 Harker Students Excel at National JCL Convention — At the National Junior Classical League Convention from July 20-26 at Indiana University, 15 Harker students represented nearly half of the California delegation, earning various academic, arts, and athletics awards. Shreyas Karnam was elected NJCL editor, while Latin teacher Lisa Masoni received the Silver Bowl Award for her dedicated service.
🚀 Harker Hosts National Youth Qualifier for Startup World Cup — On April 17, Harker's upper school campus hosted the Startup World Cup's Harker National Youth Qualifier, featuring top high school entrepreneurs from across the U.S. Seven student-founded companies competed, with SchoolAce taking 1st place and a prize of $2,000, while Harker juniors Nicole Dean and Stellan Lindh placed 3rd with Fika Matcha and advanced to the global grand finale in San Francisco.
🏆 Harker Middle School Latin Team Takes First at State Convention — From March 27-28, Harker's delegation at the State Latin Convention in Sacramento earned 1st place in the state. Students were recognized with numerous individual and sweepstakes awards, including honors for Hannah Liu, Jason Huo, and Claire Alpha across academics, athletics, arts, and certamen.
❤️ Harker Students Raise Nearly $37,000 for Heart Health — In March, Harker's lower school students raised nearly $37,000 for the American Heart Association through this year’s Kids Heart Challenge. The initiative involved 31 students completing Finn’s Mission and CPR training for 37 families, contributing to a total of over $300,000 raised since 2000.
