🏆 Mitty Speech & Debate Gains National Distinction and Champions — At the 2026 National Speech & Debate Tournament in Richmond, Virginia, Archbishop Mitty Speech & Debate earned the School of Outstanding Distinction for the ninth time. Avi Gupta '26 and Kostantina Bala '27 were crowned national champions in Duo Interpretation, while other students achieved runner-up, third-place, and quarterfinalist finishes.

🎤 Brooks Liang Wins Second Place at Schmidt Vocal Competition — Sophomore Brooks Liang earned second place at the regional Schmidt Vocal Competition on April 21 and was named “Most Promising Sophomore.” His impressive performance as a top regional finisher has led to an invitation to compete at the national finals in Sarasota.

Students Alana Arney, Adrian Vanderhaegen, Neal Sampson, Melissa Jimenez, and Colin Watson earned Soloist Awards, while the Jazz Choir received a Unanimous Superior rating.

🏆 Mitty Speech & Debate Crowned District Champions — Archbishop Mitty's Speech and Debate team was named district champion after excelling in multiple state and national qualifying tournaments across 17 events. A total of 61 Monarch students qualified for the California State Tournament, while 21 students earned a spot at the National Tournament in Virginia.

✍️ Constance Costa Celebrates National Awards in Creative Writing — Junior Constance Costa received multiple honors for her writing, including a Silver Key Award for her book The Echo of a Dream. She also won the Creativity Award from the Young Writers Association and was a finalist in the Narrative High School Writing Contest. Earlier this spring, she published her first book, further showcasing her talent.
