🏆 Gatorbotics Wins Spirit Award at International Robotics Championship — From April 17–20, 2024, Gatorbotics, the robotics team from Castilleja School, won the Spirit Award at the FIRST Championship in Houston, Texas. Competing against 74 teams in their division, this team of over 70 Upper School students marked their third consecutive qualification for the international championship.
🏆 Castilleja Sets Record with Ten Student Athletes Committing — Castilleja School announced that 10 senior student-athletes have committed to play intercollegiate sports, setting a new school record. This represents 16.4% of the graduating class who will participate in seven sports at colleges across the country.
🎓 Castilleja School Announces New Head for Summer 2025 — Castilleja School will welcome Dr. Betty Noel-Pierre as its 8th Head of School, starting in summer 2025. Currently the Head of Upper School at Brearley School in New York City, she brings extensive experience in girls' education, science teaching, and leadership from various independent schools.
📚 Castilleja Appoints Julia Russell Eells as Interim Head — Castilleja School has announced the appointment of Julia Russell Eells as the interim head of school for the 2024–2025 academic year, starting in July 2024. She will support the school's leadership transition while a search for a permanent head for the 2025–2026 year is underway.
📵 Castilleja Students Experience Benefits from Tech-Free Week — After participating in the inaugural Tech-Free Week, 42% of Castilleja Middle School students reported improved focus and fewer distractions, while 23% indicated they read more. Over 180 students in grades 6–8 participated, and 70% of teachers expressed a desire to repeat the initiative each semester.
