Physics FAQ

1. What physics courses do you support?

We support students in Physics from foundational high school coursework through advanced AP-level classes. This includes AP Physics 1, AP Physics 2, and AP Physics C, with support tailored to the student’s school, teacher, and pace.

2. Do you help with AP Physics 1, AP Physics 2, and AP Physics C?

Yes. We support students in AP Physics 1, AP Physics 2, and AP Physics C, including both Mechanics and Electricity & Magnetism, depending on the student’s course and goals.

3. Can you help if my child is struggling in physics right now?

Yes. We work with students who feel behind, confused, or overwhelmed in physics. We identify where the breakdown is happening, rebuild missing concepts, and help the student regain confidence step by step.

4. Can you also help students who are already strong and want to get ahead?

Yes. We support both remediation and acceleration. For advanced students, we deepen conceptual understanding, increase rigor in problem-solving, and help prepare for higher-level coursework and exams.

5. How is physics tutoring different from math tutoring?

Physics requires both mathematical fluency and physical reasoning. We help students connect formulas to real ideas, diagrams, motion, forces, energy, and cause-and-effect reasoning so they are not just memorizing steps.

6. Do you focus more on concepts or problem-solving?

Both. Strong physics learning requires conceptual clarity and disciplined problem-solving. We teach students how to interpret the question, model the situation, choose the right principles, and solve with confidence.

7. My child memorizes formulas but still struggles. Can you help with that?

Yes. This is very common in physics. We help students understand when to use a formula, why it applies, and how the ideas connect across different types of problems.

8. Do you help with school homework, quizzes, and tests?

Yes. We support students with current classwork, homework, quizzes, tests, and overall course readiness. At the same time, we build the deeper understanding needed for long-term success.

9. Do you help with AP exam preparation?

Yes. We help students prepare for AP Physics exams by strengthening concepts, practicing multi-step problems, improving test-taking discipline, and identifying weak areas early.

10. Can you support students from specific Bay Area schools?

Yes. We work with students from rigorous Bay Area schools and tailor support to the student’s course sequence, pace, and classroom expectations.

11. What if my child is anxious or has lost confidence in physics?

That is exactly where thoughtful support matters. We focus on creating a calm, encouraging environment where students can ask questions, learn from mistakes, and rebuild confidence through real understanding.

12. Do you offer online or in-person physics tutoring?

Yes. We offer both in-person sessions in San Jose and virtual sessions for students who prefer the flexibility of learning online.

13. How are physics sessions personalized?

Each session is tailored to the student’s current course, strengths, gaps, pace, and goals. We look at what the student is learning in school, where they are getting stuck, and what kind of support will help them progress most effectively.

14. How do I know if my child needs physics support?

Common signs include low test confidence, difficulty translating word problems into equations, reliance on memorization, inconsistent grades, frustration with homework, or feeling lost when new units begin.

15. How do we get started?

You can contact us to discuss your child’s current course, challenges, and goals. From there, we can recommend a personalized support plan and next steps.
